Shipping & Delivery Policy
Liquor License
Old Road Wine operates under license CMATS-2012/798 & WCP/000118 in compliance with the Western Cape Liquor Act, 2008 (Act 4 of 2008, as amended) for the sale of liquor for off-site consumption.
Trading Hours
Our online store processes orders during the following business hours: Monday – Friday | 09:00 – 17:00
Order Processing
All orders placed via our website are processed during trading hours. Orders placed after hours, on weekends, or on public holidays will be attended to on the next business day.
Delivery Policy
We partner with trusted third-party couriers to deliver your wine securely and timeously. All orders are carefully packaged to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
- Major Centres (Cape Town, Johannesburg, Durban): Delivery is door-to-door only. Orders are generally delivered within 5–7 business days of dispatch, provided products are in stock. Delivery fee: R130 per case.
- Regional/Outlying Areas: Delivery may take an additional 7–10 business days. Delivery fee: R205 per case.
Please note: Delivery fees are subject to change without prior notice. Orders placed on Fridays or public holidays after 16:00 will be dispatched the following working day.
Dispatch & Tracking
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive an email confirmation including a tracking number so you can follow your delivery. Old Road Wine ensures that all goods are handed to the courier in good order and will arrive at your chosen delivery address in the same condition.
Wine Sold by Vintage
Unless specifically stated in the product title and description, Old Road Wine does not guarantee vintage. Images are for illustrative purposes only, and refunds/returns based on vintage discrepancies will not be accepted.
Wine Sold by Case
Orders are fulfilled in cases of 6 (750ml bottles). Cases may be mixed, provided the order quantity is in multiples of 6 bottles.
Order Policy
Orders may only be placed online, with secure payment via our payment gateway. Delivery will only take place once payment has cleared. We do not sell alcohol to persons under the age of 18, and positive identification may be requested upon delivery. Old Road Wine reserves the right to decline or cancel any order at its discretion.
Cancelled Orders
Cancelled orders via the e-commerce platform will be subject to a 10% admin fee. Boschendal Wines also reserves the right to cancel orders already paid for if stock is unavailable or does not meet our quality standards. In such cases, a full refund will be issued.
Returns & Refunds
If you wish to return goods, please notify us by email within 7 days of receiving your order. Contact: finewines@dgb.co.za or call 021 870 4200. We will arrange collection. Refunds will be made via the original payment method, provided items are returned in their original packaging and in the same condition as received.
Export Restriction
Orders via the website are available within South Africa only. For international purchases, please contact finewines@dgb.co.za and we will refer your request to our global team.
Payment Security
All online transactions are processed securely via PayFast. Old Road Wine does not store credit card details. Customers can view PayFast’s security certificate and policy at www.payfast.co.za.
Responsibility
Old Road Wine takes full responsibility for the sale of goods, customer service, support, dispute resolution, and delivery of all products sold via our website.
