Consistency Is Crucial | Harvest 2021

As a relative newcomer, the Old Road Wine Co. is still gaining traction with new consumers, and that’s why Cellar Master Ryan Puttick is dedicated to ensuring each harvest is better than the last.

“As a young brand, the pressure is on to produce the best wine possible. While we do play around with a few experiments, overall, I want to accomplish consistency year on year. That’s my goal,” he shares.

In order to achieve this, Old Road Wine Co. sources grapes from meticulously selected areas that offer the best expressions of the varieties the team is working with. “We also source a lot of fruit from cool-climate areas as this gives us the balanced grapes we desire,” shares Ryan.

With harvest well underway at the Old Road Wine Co., the cellar team  brought in Sauvignon Blanc, Chenin Blanc and Pinotage. “Our single vineyards will hopefully come in soon!” ends Ryan excitedly.
